Cookoff day

On Saturday we went to the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium in Rudioso. Our first task was to locate the chuckwagon where we were to eat lunch. We would be dining at Lizzie II. The menu looked rib-sticking good.

We checked out the kitchen. It was an obvious "A" rating establishment.

The cooks had started early Saturday morning. It appeared to be a team effort.

I would like to be a chuckwagon cook, but I don't think I have achieved the proper "look". This was not our wagon.

We were able to catch some of the cooks exchanging recipes.

This was our lunch being cooked in dutch ovens.

Our cooks were hard working and seemed to enjoy their work.

Our table was set before us. Come & dine.

These two lovely ladies were set to enjoy their meal. Notice the "home brew" in Mary's hand. Wonder why she would not share?


After lunch we watched the "Horse Whisperer" work his magic.
